Grad Student Organizations

at UTA

Latinx Graduate Student Association (LGSA)

Founded in 2022 by aerospace PhD student David Reynoso, LGSA aims to support the recruitment, retention, and success of Latinx graduate students and other groups historically underrepresented at UTA. LGSA strives to create a community, embrace our heritage/culture, and support network at UTA that enables students to excel academically, socially, and professionally.
As President of LGSA, I prioritize events that build community and center student identity. Event flyers (past and upcoming) are found here. If you are interested in starting a similar organization, please feel free to reach out!
Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) Chapter at UTA

The UT Arlington chapter of the Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) was started in 2022 to provide a forum for researchers in various fields to come together for academic, community service and social activity at UT Arlington. SACNAS leads with culture and identity as the means to achieve true diversity in STEM. Although the name honors the founders, SACNAS welcomes everyone who supports its mission.

SACNAS has been part of many milestones for me, academically, and I hope to continue providing opportunities for other students by being involved. Our chapter website is linked here
